This is a manual written by freelance writers who really don't know how to write a technical manual clearly.Too much yadda-yadda (they must have been paid by the word) and not enough to-the-point writing.Also the book covers a really broad range of outboards -- too broad a range to be done well in one book:There's a VAST difference between a 2HP outboard and a 60HP outboard.It's like a book on how to fix a lawnmower and Formula One race car in one.The photos are very badly reproduced and the reprinting of the technical spec charts is legible, but bad.Nevertheless, it's handy to have around for those tech specs alone, but that's about it.You'd be better off researching your specific engine on the internet - some of these outboards have gained cult status (deservedly) and have an avid, knowledgeable following on-line.

Book great. Seller required signature without mentioning this. We were home UPS did not knock or leave package. Charged express delivery fee, and didn't get the book for 3 extra days. NIce☹The information in the manual is well put together and easy to follow, recommend the purchasing.

The manual is fairly comprehensive but a little hard to follow in some areas due to the large number of engines and variations it covers. You will definitely need to find, then sit and read over the applicable section a few times before starting work. The instructions seem to all be there but the manual does jump around a little and it was a little hard at times to find the parts that were applicable to my engine. Not a bad manual but could be organized a better.

This manual is just okay. It covers a wide range of motors, which is great. I had a hard time pinning down the exact motor I have. Buy a specific manual for your motor if you need to work on it.

helps maintain outboard engine

This book is better than no book at all. It's general in nature and lacks necessary detailed information. It got me close enough to repair carbs and some other things. I've been a mechanic so it helped and I figured out the rest needed some times. For the price it's alright if you don't have a book at all.

Too much junk. My particular motor is not mentioned in ANY part of the book although it fall in the years and HP range. Poor barely readable pictures.

Clear illustrations and instructions. I find this book useful.
