My aunt was recently diagnosed with two types of cancers. We have had several emergency family meetings with her grown children. So while my aunt is ill (the doctors have said terminally) but I’m not claiming that! Her children are trying to help her get her affairs in order. Overall, she’s done a decent job of keeping up with some things, but there are still things she needs to do.I grabbed this book and almost read it in one sitting. This book cut right through the chase and was like a crash course for me with definitions and information. The book even recommended professional people to assists with estate planning. I really felt in reading this book the author aside from being an attorney, wrote this book with a caring heart.After reading this book, I am now going to give readers three pieces of advice.1) If you don’t have your affairs in order, get them in order immediately.2) Don’t wait until you get sick and are suffering to try to make plans (it is the most painful thing talking to my aunt while she is sick dozing off in between bouts of crying and dealing with side effects from chemo.3) Get this book because it packs commonsensical advice and definitions in one place. And it helps you know where to begin when considering getting your affairs in order.

This book will help you understand the basics of wills, trusts, and estate. Legal terms are broken down in common language.

Good product. Easy to understand. Would recommend.

Unfortunately this book is inaccurate about Ohio estate taxes (law changed in 2013 well after the printing date of 2011) and also incorrectly describes Roth IRAs. Having found two easily checkable facts to be wrong, I don't have confidence in the current accuracy of the rest of the material.
